I'm old, living in Bergvliet Cape Town. I'm an Electronics Engineer, Internet Software Developer, contract Webmaster and application
software developer in Visual Basic, VB.Net, PHP and ASP with over 35 years of industry experience. I'm currently lecturing/mentoring Electrical Engineering students at the Cape Penninsula University of Technology during their year of industry internship.
My interests are many and varied. Current interests are camping, Christian growth, designing low power radio transceivers and the Internet. Past interests are diving, rock-climbing, playing guitar, photography and amateur radio.
I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, and always had a love of the outdoors and nature. I'm a long standing member of the Mountain Club of South Africa, a seasoned hiker, mountaineer and rock climber. 30 years ago, we got tired of coming down to Cape Town every year, so we sold up and re-settled here. No sooner had I arrived, than I discovered SCUBA diving and took to it like a seal. Now I am a CMAS diving instructor, NAUI Dive master and a class 4 commercial diver after the many long hours spent working inside the tanks at the Two Oceans Aquarium.
In 2008 my wife Kath of 38 years of happy marriage died, and I was blessed to meet and marry my new wife, Karen who keeps me young and on the straight and narrow ;-)
